Opening up to blogging? March 25, 2006

Until I started my Masters, blogging was a complete mystery to me. The closest I had come to blogs is searching through the internet in sometimes spectacularly unsuccessfull  attempts to source information for a project or research, and even then, I often did’nt realise I’d been reading a blog! Now don’t get me wrong, I think it is terrific that people are prepared to share all sorts of information, opinions, research, ideas, art etc for all to see on the internet. For computer related issues, the Bleeding Edge blog is terrific. But, do I need to have a blog? Or should the question be, do I need to have a web presence through a blog? Is anyone really that interested in what I have to say? (outside those assessing me for this course). I would feel alot more comfortable if I actually had something that I deemed worthwhile to contribute to a wider cyber audience, rather than this feeble rant!
